David Radford, Owner

David has been in the air quality control business since 1971. He holds a State of Florida license for air conditioning and refrigeration. He is a Certified Indoor Environmentalist (cert. #CIE 01802) and has been awarded the credential Certified Mold Remediator (cert. #CMR 03891). The CMR status is only awarded to individuals who meet experience requirements that assure field knowledge of mold remediation and related indoor environmental issues.

David holds a private pilots license which gives the flexibility needed for supporting the wide area of coverage for services. He also holds a general class Amateur Radio Operators license, Callsign KI4HKR. This was an invaluable aid during our last season of devastating hurricanes that cut off many traditional communications systems.

David's first job was at Jackson Housing Authority in Jackson, Tennessee. He started his first business Lavina Heat & Air in Lavina, Tn.

David and his family moved to Florida in 1980. He worked for B & I Contractors and worked on huge commercial chiller systems at Southwest Regional Airport. He also worked on numerous jobs at Naples Community Hospital. He began working at American Air in 1982 and worked on many A/C jobs up to a 100 tons. His experience also includes refrigeration work, fractional horsepower up to 100 tons.

David started Thrifty A/C & Refrigeration, Inc. in 1984. It is a major A/C, refrigeration, hood exhaust and ice machine company. The company services statewide Florida.

Thrifty A/C & Refrigeration, Inc. major accounts include WCI Community Properties, Inc., Ocean Reef Club - Florida Keys, Meristar Hospitality Corporations, Barron Collier Companies, A. Duda & Sons Citrus Farms, Sunniland Roofing State Wide, Deering Bay Yacht Club, Estuary at Grey Oaks, Forest C.C., Old Hickory C.C., and many more large country clubs and restaurant chains in the area.
